In 1980 I commenced training at the CK Wing Chun school in Adelaide . My principle instructors in my early training were instructors Neville M, Graham K and Albert C.
I started my training directly under Sifu Jim in 1983 once I had achieved a proficient level and commenced my teaching. At this time I met and became a close friend of Nigel Brenton . Over the next 7 years I was welcomed to train under the supervision of sigung Chu Shong Tin when he would regularly visit our school in Adelaide. A number of my fellow students were also fortunate to meet and be trained by sifu Wong , at this time on one of his visits to Australia . We were taught a few of his very memorable techniques .
In the early 90's the then instructor , Mark Spence became the manager of the Adelaide school. In 1991 we made our first visit to Hong Kong to train directly under our sigung Chu Shong Tin. This would be the first of many visits to follow for several of us. The training was always humbling and would open our eyes and encourage us to ask questions and further improve our skills to limits beyond our understanding at the time.
In 1999 I left the school for personal reasons but was followed and insisted on for further teaching from former students . This I accepted under my own terms , due to my limited available time . I kept this up until 2012 and relocated to Brisbane due to my job at the time.
I have continued to train and improve since that time. .
