Joanna Carriere
J. Carriere is Sifu of Senior Women Wing Chun, leading the Women’s program at Cumberland Martial Arts Academy, where she instructs students training in martial art with encouragement, direction and self awareness. Earlier in her career, Joanna gained extensive training and honoured disciple of Sifu and Canadian National Sanda Coach Robert Teske in self defense, weapons, forms and advanced knowledge of the centre line theory. Prior to Kung Fu Wing Chun, she trained Traditional Karate in Ottawa with Sensei Hing-Poon Chan. Her latest training experience in Ottawa, she gained insight into Kung Fu Wushu under the guidance of Sifu and National Wushu Canada Judge, Daria Kanel.
Joanna holds a Gold Sash Wing Chun Kung Fu (Level 7) from Wushu Canada, and Certified Canadian Sanda Judge and Wushu Fundamental Skill Course. She has completed additional training in Fitness Kickboxing Level 1 from Kickboxing Canada and holds a National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP).
Joanna is a member of the Sunny Tang lineage (Mr. Tang a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, Founder of Wushu Canada and an inductee into the Canadian Martial Arts Hall of Fame) martial arts organization. Joanna has also served on a board of judges for Kung Fu in Montreal and Ottawa. Joanna is a member of the World Elite Black Belt Society and eWingChun.com. She is actively coaching at the Cumberland Martial Arts Academy, Ottawa, Ontario Canada.
