David Mcknight has over 20 years experience in the Wing Chun System as well as training in various other martial arts such as the Pekiti Tiria system taught by Leo Gaje. His approach is to train concepts rather than "techniques". While the "techniques" are still learned they are learned with an understanding of the principles and energy which make them effective. This allows the student to more quickly grasp the system and be able to apply it quickly in real life situations.
In addition to his martial arts background, Dave has also served in Law Enforcement as both a Philadelphia Housing Police Officer as well as a Pennsylvania State Police Trooper. He draws on his real life experiences to better prepare his students to not only survive but to win in a real life confrontation. In addition to the physical concepts, he also stresses that the mental state of a person is as important or even more important than their physical skills.
