Everything Wing Chun Butterfly Swords Guide
Series: DOMINATION Line.
Blade Steel: High-Quality Austrian Bohler D2 Tool Steel OR High-Quality 440C OR a special edition steel (see specifics above)
Blade HRC: All blades are heat-treated for hardness. As a general guide for all the steels we use: D2 is treated to about HRC 58; 440C to 58 HRC for cutting performance; Damascus Steel to about 55 HRC. San Mai gets differential heat treatment because of the 2 materials. The core gets 56/58 and the outer material gets 45. It can depends on the steels, though. Carbon and Hammon is about HRC 55-57 (depends on exact steel). 420 is 54-55 HRC.
Blade Grind: Wide Hollow Grind (for better slicing) OR a Lenticular (Convex) Grind (for better edge strength) (see specifics above)
Blade Sharpness: Blunt with 1mm edge OR Sharp (see specifics above)

Handle Angle/Alignment: Straight Handle. Aligned to tip and spine for more powerful chopping and stabbing.
Handle Shape: Bellied Ergonomic.
Handle Type: Full Handles
Flipping vs Trapping: Quillon is designed for both: Sword can easily and comfortably be flipped and held in a reverse grip. It also traps well.
Sword Weight: Combat Weight - Each sword weighs approx 2.3 lbs (1.04kg) per sword. Paired swords are
generally within 10 grams (0.35 oz) of each other, but because they are hand made, swords can vary in weight up to approx 50 grams in either direction. Also, the steels used and blade grinds can also change the weight. This is just the AVERAGE across all the swords of this model.

Notes: These swords are hand-made. No two swords are perfectly identical. Small variations in the measurements are typical. Please read #2 under "Things you should know" and "Not Product Defects" under the warranty for more information.
Case/Sheath: EWC is providing a free nylon-lined leather 2-in1 case ($50 Retail value) with these swords. The case is offered for free and is not covered under any warranty and none are available for replacement. Do not store the blades in leather cases as it can corrode the blades over time. To prevent your blades from scratching on the metal button rivets when putting them in and pulling them out of the sheath, you should take some Gorilla or Duct tape and put it on the inside of the sheath to cover the rivet. Also when inserting and withdrawing the swords, you will want to keep them pressed to the inside of the sheath, not the outside.
